Welcome to Mulberry Bush Montessori
Thank you for your interest in Mulberry Bush Montessori. We are passionate about getting it right for every child. Your child is at the centre of all that we do.
It is wonderful to see a child pour water into their own cup for the first time, write their name or build the tallest tower they can build.
We know that through the way we work with your child, using the Montessori approach, Pre Birth to Three guidance and Curriculum for Excellence experiences and outcomes, that the opportunities your child will have during their formative years, will have a profound and lasting affect on their learning.
At Mulberry Bush Montessori we inspire young minds and set the foundations for life long learning. We have created a beautiful space for your child that is a home away from home – a happy place full of friends where your child can be themselves. It’s a place full of interesting things to do, but also a place where your child can take time out and just be quiet if they want to. It is somewhere where they can grow up knowing that they belong and that they are uniquely special.
We know that your child will leave us at the end of each day with a smile on their face, having absorbed some valuable information they have learned to come back to us the next time to learn some more!
About Us
About Mulberry Bush Montessori
Mulberry Bush Montessori first opened in 1993 in the village of Killearn, Stirling. Mulberry Bush Montessori in the city centre of Glasgow followed in 2004.
Mairi Maciver Clark, who owns and runs both nursery settings, opened up Mulberry Bush Montessori as a direct result of seeking out a suitable setting for her baby daughter whilst working as a journalist and broadcaster. She was unable to find one suitable and so decided to go back to her roots as a Primary Teacher and Social Worker, undertaking a business course, to open up Mulberry Bush Montessori in Killearn. Mairi recognised the importance of having a prepared environment that was easily accessible, bright and spacious that would allow freedom of movement and one that was filled with real and natural, beautiful stimulating activities for the developing child. As a mother, she knew that there was something more than just feeding, bathing, dressing, playing with and loving her daughter. She knew and recognised from her training, that children in their early years are in the process of forming themselves into new human beings, through a series of predictable planes of development.
It was from this passion and through research, that she discovered the Montessori philosophy and Mulberry Bush Montessori continues to evolve today!
